it could well do
just looking and talking around whilst harvest has been generally good ,its not been a record breaker . The amount of total harvested wheat is not above home use.
the amount of barley sown seems to be higher and as for osr the country will be yellow come spring and almost every crop ive seen looks tremendous atm thus the acerage of wheat may not be as big as some are predicting
The cost of transport and shipping has never been higher and is making it un economic to import
The rest of the world appear to have lower stocks and an increasing demand
the increase in growing costs could well have a negative effect on production
but then im an optimist a trait that one day will bear fruit

If £3-50 is your idea of going "into orbit" I think you are very easy to please, three and a half grand per thousand tons, FFS. If it went up £35per ton yesterday it still won't be enough to get excited over!

Interesting observation from this week. The increase in wheat price is directly proportional to the number of phone calls from various merchants. In other words the best time to sell is probably when the phone is quiet?

Be careful on a rising market folks think its only ever going up which it may well do for a bit but and the big but is can folk get the timing right to sell cos thats where the real money is made

The money is already made. You know your tonages and costs now, so it's just a case of seeing how much profit you make. You don't mind missing our on the last £1 when it's £200/t.

Nope. 100% not sold anything wheat / barley / beens or linseed all still unsold, so my 1000 ton wheat has gone up £3500 but my fert bill is up about 40k from last Yr, not feeling the enthusiasm yet.
