Baled some wheat straw behind the combine in round bales , looked ok apart from tramlines being a bit green, carted some and put in barn stacked 5 high, some of them were starting to heat up and a bit of steam ! Any body had any catch fire or will they just go mouldy ,had some before get wet and go mouldy, but these are sappy wet not rain wet.

Anything that we bale when forced by the weather always goes to the side so we use them up early. They may not fire but they will probably clap and be a swine to use up

If the crop has had Roundup a couple of weeks before combining, the crop is clean and the weather is good then we often bale behind the combine as the straw is perfectly dry IMO; never had any problems.
