hi all,
i have some rear wheel weights for john deere cast wheels in the yard, wondered if anybody had made or knew of an adapter set to run them on standard john deere solid rims on the tractor below, the new hedge utter makes things a bit wobbly at full reach! looking for ideas really?:scratchhead:

that pic is what got me thinking! fendt weights are bit different though as I believe the rear is flat on those whereas on my cast weights they dip in, failing that has anyone got any pictures of john deere solid wheels as above with weights fitted/starter weights fitted?

Wobbling tractors are not desirable, and water filled tyres rarely get emptied. Here are three pics from Chris near Warwick who was the brilliant Farm Walk contributor in the current issue of Farm Ideas. It's in newsagents as well as by post. I never mind posting pics on TFF.

That block of wood on the pallet times is a good idea in itself! Why didn't I think of that!

Glad you like it - I thought the same. Now I don't like to say nothing, or even suggest you get onto the PFI subs list, but there's a reason for me buzzing round the country talking and taking pics. Takes longer than writin up press releases though!

To try and reduce wheel slip and be able to get our ploughing finished we have just fitted these 454kg wheel weights from a NH tg285 onto our cvx 195 caseih.
The mounting holes of the weights lined up with a curved point on the rim so wasn't suitable to bolt straight on.
We made some adapters out of 1" thick steel plate that bolt to the wheel centre with 6 M20 bolts. The weights then bolt to the steel plate. So far I'm quite happy with them. Only been on the tractor a few days. Easily removed if we need to lighten the tractor again.
We are thinking of going back to duals for sowing rather than using 900 wide rear tyres. We sometimes struggle for grip on some of our hills hopefully the extra weight will help get the power down.

Is that continental tyres? If it is that is your problem with grip
