Hoping to get some out next weekend, bulling heifers and cows & calves. Got our TB test next week so we won't open the gate before then in case they don't want to come back in :ROFLMAO:
Turn out has usually been towards the end of April for us

Weened off last weekend and if the grass round the house keeps growing like it is I'll have them youngsters out in the next two weeks just to reduce some workload. Heifers are starting to bag up so with some luck I should be calving in the next 2 weeks then boot them out as they calve. They only came in in December but I feel this winter has been the most taxing yet

Tuesday. I am away on Monday so will let them out during the day from Tuesday. That will let the bull catch the back end and early calvers and they can clean up the early (or late?) grass.
Keep them coming in every night for silage in case it turns too wet ( which it always does at some stage).

If you listen to some on here they never came in . Turned our lot out and it’s a bit too wet yet to be fair but the head gasket has gone on the tractor and it’ll be a while before I get it running to go get more straw.

If my ground was so wet/bare on a regular basis that I couldn’t get a good chunk of cows out in early April I wouldn’t keep them.

Back up plan is 75 bales of wheat straw and nuts...
