wanting to claim on existing herbal leys hoping 1/may start date but some of them are to plough out sept 23 some sept 24, can I claim the the herbal payment in the same scheme year that I am ploughing them out? they'll still be down for 4/5 months of the scheme year where as if I was establishing one it may only be established in the last month of the scheme year?

used herbal lays as the grass in my cereal rotation, the herbal lays will be followed but winter wheat.

Common sense would say yes as its achieved its aims already and will continue to until you take it out , you can only be as good as they ask , , you are correct in that you would not achieve the aims with a shorter new ley
I can't see anywhere in the notes that states how long the rotation herbal ley should be in for
If your intending to resow any for next year I suggest you go for a cheaper short term Herbal Ley if that's your intention

I say yes, and am intending to next year. The leys to turn over this autumn are really only clover, so I'm claiming 'cover crop' and no insecticide on them this SFI year, as that's worth more than the clover. It's really daft having a choice of what to call them, but that's the game that everyone's playing. May start date.

Got to keep an eye on the 'must maintain 50% of year 1' rule when getting creative.

well you have the seed order ;) direct drilling one particular piece when/if it dries up into failed winter barley with the aim to take that out September 2025.
(I had chosen the opposite option to the wester Wolds that you gave me)

my phones knackered else i would upload the pics of last years herbal ley.

thanks for the tip about the 50% of 1st year rule, I should be well within as I'm adding them to my grazing as they come up for re seeding.

can you claim over winter bird feed on grass IGL2? on the same field as SAM 3 herbal ley as they are both achievable?
debating fetching all stock in last day august and claiming a lot of IGL2

Sam 3 and igl2 aren’t compatible.
