When is a 35x not a 35x

And please also remember these tractor's are 50 years old may have had bonnets swapped etc over these years
And dashes,backends ect
We had a few really genuine 35s in so the customers thinks anyway
Until i ring them and say there late 35
Has a fe 1957 gearbox and a single clutch fitted with a dual clutch prefix on the vin plate and ford rear wheels
I hate having to ring them with info like that i try and rectify it with items in stock ect without letting them know if i can it really bursts their bubble

I will put a spanner in the works. In 1962 before ithe first 35x was built in Nov, 35 3 cylinder were available with factory fitted difflock and the first multi powers were 3 cylinders built in june 1962
When did 35s stop being produced
Did they stop dead as soon as 135 was available or were the 2 offered together crossed over in effect???

Got a 35 and 35X here, both from new so not messed about. I will have to look but I think they both have a diff lock.

Never really noticed much if any difference as far as using them goes, 35 starts a lot better.

35s stopped in 64 when the 135 appeared, and Agco started production again in 2015 for some African market.

i have from New a 35 that still runs v well but when we tidied up its paintwork about 10yrs back i could only get 35X stickers at the time.
it does have a diff lock but what is the real difference? & its the good 3cyl engine in ours.
Cost £626 when it was new ive lost count how many Times my late Father reminded me of that fact.
Its Reg if anyone can tell me its age is OKS 664
Amazing Tractors

Yes I,ve seen that written as well, you,d think their must be some evidence of someone having worked or owning a 35 multi power , bound to be a rare beast , maybe somebody would like prove me wrong with proof of ones existence.

Next door neighbour bought what he thought was a 35X, got it home and reckons it's not an X, apparently has diff lock, 3cyl and no air filter through the bonnet but upon checking the serial no he believes it's just a 35. I dont know a lot about them to be fair but see that the X's fetch good money and I think unless you know exactly what you're looking at you can get taken for a ride, like this chap has. Seems he is quite pragmatic about it and says he should have done his research before buying (I will add he is not a farmer)
I keep my eyes open for one but I think I may just stick to doing up Fergies.

The early 3 cylinder 35s had the air intake under the bonnet with a pipe back to the dash the same as a 4cyl all be it with a different bonnet the pre cleaner above the bonnet on a 3cyl slipped inside the air filter neck whereas the 35x one fitted over the neck.
