Not grown grass before, but got some in amongst the August storms. Too wet to roll at the time, and it's now up and doing nicely on the whole.

Inclination is to roll it either cambridge ( or flat if time) now, but dont want to damage clovers etc.

What is best practice on this? Seed beds were generally fine and level, but then got v wet v quickly. Drying now though obviously.

Many thanks!

Are you going to graze it before Winter?

The rules for rolling grass are not before it has three true leaves on it and not after stem elongation. I doubt it’s got three true leaves on it already although you might get a chance later this autumn.

I've done it just as it was coming up roughly 3 weeks after sowing because of the same reason you had to leave it with the flat roller on orders from someone else and thought I would kill all the clover but it was fine grass is pretty resilient stuff!!

Just done some here.. sown 2/3 weeks since, poured next day. Fine grass at one leaf struggling to put roots down!

It got rolled yesterday! Its got two chances now.. right or wrong time will tell.
