When to wean lambs?

Started lambing 4th March, most lambed within a month. Welsh Mule ewes, Charollais tups. I have some PP keep to put ewes on and some nice seed grass for the lambs. 13 weaned pet lambs grazing with the flock seem to be doing fine and all the rest looking good too. Current grazing will only last a couple of weeks. When can I split them?

No benefit to keeping lambs on ewes past 12 weeks.

Depending on quality of feed they're going on to, lambs can be weaned at 52 days.

I would definitely split them in a couple of weeks and put the lambs on your reseeds. I would guarantee they'll do better than trailing round after their mums on PP at that stage.

I started lambing 27th of January and haven’t weaned mine yet I have culled 1/4 of the flock in the last 3 weeks though so some are weaned now… hoping I’ll have time this weekend too get them weaned

Sounds like the ideal opportunity from a couple of angles
