When Will It Ever Stop Raining?

It’s amazing the variations we have in weather on such a relitavly small island. Ground is burning up here and its not grown much in 2 weeks and nearly everybody has been cutting and baleing rushes. Parents place by the coast looks like half the fields have been glyphosated 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 No need to worry about hitting any rocks if there was silage to be cut, they all have a 3m exclusion zone around them 😂😂😂😂
When the lawn stops growing you know it's dry. Haven't touched it for a month.
Turbine stopped on the 18th and I will need a week of serious rain before I think about a restart.
I normally have the yearlings separate in the highest part of the farm over the summer but I had to open the gates because they have no water there any more.

Still keeps raining here and no sign of any haymaking weather or harvesting for that matter. A few combines been trying to start wheat but moisture contents are high.
Too much grass and any spare time spent topping!!!

We are a bit short of rain here in Lancashire too. I know some people in the area have had heavy showers hit them, but they've mostly missed us and the grass isn't growing well at all. Todays rain so far.... well it is over 1mm... but isn't 2mm yet.

Only 70 acres left to cut! The dew is terrible at the moment and things just don't seem to be drying. We managed a few yards yesterday before it rained again!

Last year harvest was wrapped up by the 14th of August, not much we can do but just wish we could get that one elusive day and finish!!

Where abouts a are u seem a normal one here with what looks like an early sept finish. Certainly looks earlier than the 17th sept finish in spring barley of last year

No measurable rain here since 7th, after I posted 4 posts earlier, and now we have NE winds which have dried everything out for the top 3-4". OSR despearately needs rain now. But long term forecast is to stay dry for the next month and still that dratted NE wind.

" Ah, it's all because the Jet Stream is too far south."
