While unloading a fertiliser lorry this morning (I know ironic if I had more livestock I would have natural fertility)

And with in 20 minutes it was all about not eating meat to save the planet and cheat on meat with the hairy bikers and how good m and s egg free eggs are!!!

Where are the AHDB, NFU to combat this already believed propaganda. We have slept walked into this total farce and are going to pay a heavy price for it.

I am tempted today to cancel my NFU membership. And I know Guy Smith et al will say they are working behind the scenes but we need in front of the main public not some civil servants ear.

Minette Batters wrote in the last news letter about starting to believe in the conspiracy behind the no / less meat campaign, why it's taken so long for the NFU to realise this I don't know as several reports have been published warning of the Big Multi national companies trying to control Agriculture.
Big adverts for Nestle on channel 4 this week, now there's a surprise!

Why does everyone assume the NFU must do something about it? I don't know what percentage of farmers are actual members and a lot of the ones that are wont be meat producers.

Not much point being a member if they don't stick up for the industry.
If they were the National Arable Farmers Union then your right I wouldn't expect them to respond.

Minette was on R4 just before 8am. I would imagine with the absolute barrage at the moment, they really need a quality panel of spokespersons not just the top 3

AHDB have got some info packs out there but it's toy town compared with the media onslaught from Monbiot and the various vegan propaganda

What I am really proud of is the individual personal efforts of many farming friends many with retail / public followings (including the hard hitting Nigel Owens Welsh rugby ref) taking to whatever medium they can to redress this BS

While I agree that more needs to come from our unions and meat promotion bodies but we are our own worst enemies when it comes to this topic.

Every day I’ll see at least a dozen posts on social media where farmers have shared, commented or reacted to vegan propaganda. All that does is give them more air time. We would have a huge collective impact if we reported, ignored and blocked all vegan activity that we see on Facebook etc.

They do a huge amount of work but unfortunately its not always seen by memebers and i do agree they dont get everything right but i think its really important for members to get involved and try and shape a better Union. AHDB on the other hand collect levy money from producers and should be far far more vocal in sticking up for the sectors they receive levy money from instead of regurgitating a whole lot of crap.

They won't block it though will they? PETA has a Californian investment in Facebook hence the action on "inappropriate content" when somebody reports a genuine post of an uncooked steak or the mass removal of livestock for sale posts from bona fide farmers

Regurgitating is one thing. I'd like to lift the lid on Red Tractor standards and who starts what because I think we score own goals in this

Facebook will not block this sort of propaganda as some very dubious animal rights associations have their fingers in the facebook pie.
Ignoring and blocking it is like burying you head in the sand hoping it will go away , it won't.

The only way to deal with this sort of thing is to challenge it with proven facts , and keep challenging them. They tend to revert to type and start insulting when challenged .

I think there has been too much burying our heads in the sand and allowing a small minority of snowflakes to be offended , pandered to and ultimately have there own way.

Time for us all to grow some balls and stop all this rubbish before it gets any worse.

Step one challenged the bias rubbish they quote !

I fully appreciate the financial interests of PETA etc have with Facebook and that if a few post of vegan propaganda is reported then nothing will happen. All of social media is click bait, the more views likes and shares an item gets, the more it is seen and higher up the trending list. At best we could all to as I suggested

BUT FOR FUDGE SAKE

stop liking, commenting and sharing to decrease their ability to get the views across

What would you like them to say and how would you like them to go about it?
The NFU etc have no say on whether they make it to Tv or radio and I don't think anyone has ever actually won an argument on social media.
What makes people so sure that constantly popping up and saying "no that's not true" is a good idea?
