Where do people keep tools , use as a workshop ??

I know this is a basic question but I have to probably vacate my current shed which I use as a workshop .
Do many on here have a dedicated workshop and if so is it like those USA U tube guys like Welker and Millenium F armer with huge 25 ft electric doors and room for 5 tractors , semi trucks ?!
Ok , back to reality, do many on here use containers as a store with a vice and compressor etc and just do stuff outside or do you just keep stuff in one place and move them to a suitable building,if undertaking repairs . How do you keep your tools safe.

Reason I ask is that I have no suitable buildings to relocate too as a dedicated workshop/ toolshed but only big cattle sheds, Dutch barns and grainstore and can t really work out how to incorporate a safe( thinking theft) toolshed. Any suggestions.

In your position possibly two containers, one tools, one store, with one of these in between

I would suggest the container route, if it was beside a grain store or dutch barn you could soon work on something under cover in the front of the shed if its wet or outside by the container if it’s dry, and put tools back when you’ve done leaving grain store clear. Unless of course the shed is full to the door!

We have been using a small building to keep tools locked up.just big enough to get a car in and the tools.tractors and machines are worked on either outside or in a large shed across the yard.its not perfect but it's cheap and works

Thanks for replies . The two farms I go contract spraying at who have containers as workshop are both too cramp and tight for space as everything seems to be just inside the end doors so you end up climbing over crap all the time but maybe just have to be disciplined and organised better.

Bought an 8x8ft container recently with great heavy duty shelves built into the right hand side, idea was to move it around to where it’s needed but there is no where near enough room it’s amazing when everything gets gathered up the space that is required good for getting semi secure though. It’s now that full the forklift can’t lift it
so it’s having to stay where it is.
