Even though we are in winter over here (UK), I am interested to know if any TFF members around the planet are combine harvesting today, some pics would be nice.

Today February 8 in the southern hemisphere is the equivalent to August 8 in the northern hemisphere. I was in Chile one month of January and I saw harvesting cereals

  11. most "winter" crops ( wheat, barley, chickpeas, canola etc ) around here are done & dusted by December, but most people didn't have anything planted to harvest, so its a bit academic anyway . . .

some early crops of sorghum are being harvested now, mainly a bit further north of here. Mainstream "summer crop" ( sorghum, cotton, etc ) harvest generally doesn't kick off till early autumn ( march / april ), but there is very little sorghum around as well.
A mate of mine is running a cotton picking crew with 2 machines this year, he has about 11,000 hectares of dryland ( not irrigated ) cotton to pick, from southern Qld to northern NSW, but he's not starting till mid march

Harvest will still be going on in the northern hemisphere, the rice harvest in se Asia is a year round operation.
