Nah, not mine. Just there getting ready for cotton harvest

That machine is a JD CS690 cotton STRIPPER with an extended 12 m front for dryland. They have just bought a second that is still in town getting pre delivery work done. They are a $1,000,000 machine . . .
To the right of that ( just out of the picture ) is a JD 7760 cotton PICKER
Behind them are 3 x JD S690 combines that didn't turn a wheel this year . . .

The 2 strippers have at least 14000 hectares of work lined up this season - at $200 / ha . . .
How much is a bale of cotton worth ?

A bale is around $570
A bale is an actual unit of measurement in cotton, it is around 225 kg of lint cotton after ginning
There are roughly 4 "bales" to one of those round "modules"

I hope that makes sense

Off topic.
Is cotton very easy to grow and manage as a crop. I assume it is an annual (plant every year) , is it grown continuously or in a rotation, is cotton only grown on contract or is there a commodity market for it like combinable grain and oilseed crops.
Is it very prone to certain pests, diseases and is there a critical time in the plants growth that it needs,or does not need moisture to produce a good yield and good quality cotton.
@Farmer Roy ,you say the combines in the pic have not turned a wheel this year, does that mean that the cotton plant is extremely drought resistant and that is why they are getting the cotton harvesters ready, (Cereals droughted out but cotton crop still enough to harvest)???

What else do they use shed for?

It's only new

It is just a machinery shed, but probably has easily $10,000,000 worth of gear sitting under it at the moment
The sun is pretty harsh out here, soon fades paint & perishes rubber & plastic very quickly

From our point of view, its shade to work in rather than being in the full sun

It's a big sucker, about 100m x 30 m

3 bays.
So they can drive straight in with wide planters & headers

The strippers have 12 m fronts, unfortunately they are too high to fit under that truss framework over the wide bay
