Latest wheeze, apparently, is weaseling out of paying farmers for clearing snow.
NHS struggling. Schools closing. Roads resembling forest tracks full of potholes. Rubbish to be collected only every 3 weeks. Cuts to the police force.

Let’s build another 350,000 houses a year, how many more people will that be?
I think we need more hospitals first!
We will run ourselves into poverty at this rate

I don't think we can comprehend how much money the social care budget sucks out of the system.
Talking to a woman last night who is a one on one carer for a mentally and physically handicapped lady of 31, she is part of the team who provide 24/7 care, and she works 2 long days a week at £16/hr, she suggested that by the time everything was considered it was costing £4k a week to keep this one patient at home, and that in a full time nursing home the bill would be approaching £7k a week.
That is for only one patient, that we know about.

Social care is certainly a big problem but nursing at home is certainly part of it. Nurses running all over the county to give 15 minutes here and 15 minutes there is crazy. Spending a fortune equipping a house with specialist lifts lifting gear etc, for the patient to move home or perhaps die a few days later is crazy. The not reusing this specialist equipment is crazy!
Housing disabled and elderly people in well equipped, well run centres would be sense.
However a far bigger problem is pensions which is crippling all.

  9. Completely cut the foreign aid budget to zero effective immediately.

    Cancel the Trident replacement program.

No more nonsense with foreign nationals or migrants trying to claim asylum put them on the cheapest flight home immediately.

    Introduce another high tax band.

Increase corporation tax and taxation on the self employed.

Shut down all the devolved governments and make every man jack of them get real jobs. If the wont reside in or near Westminster they obviously dont want to be MPs enough.

All multinational companiea to be taxed on all UK operations irrespective of where they are headquartered.

The potholes that got bodged up in December are all fecked again. Council want to charge for emptying garden waste bins, council want to increase planning fees, council tax gone up again:banghead: Librarys closing, bus routes axed.

One day the state will take all your money, give you a bit of spending money back and waste the rest.
  11. Another one, axe all spending on agriculture.

And no more EU payments. Fudge em.

Give it 15 years and some bright spark in government will re-invent the wheel and decide that community care homes/hospices is the solution.
This will of course cost a fortune as all the existing ones will have been long since sold off or put to ther uses:rolleyes:

What I don’t understand is where did all that money they printed a few years ago go!? If that had been poured into the infrastructure of the country it would surely have been better than the banks making it disappear.

According to the tax breakdown I get every year, more of my tax went on paying the national debt than defence
  15. Err, serious question

Is the UK on track to be a third world country ?
Or at the very least, a "failed state" ?

I hope not, but things don't look good for you . . .

We were certainly the poor man of Europe by the 1970's. Things gradually appeared better until the financial crash in 2007, when we got rumbled as a nation that doesn't produce anything worthwhile.
A Country that doesn't manufacture anything is doomed IMO.

Most of the local taxes are spent on wages and pensions and most of what is left is wasted by the councils on hair brained schemes
