Why are the NFU not promoting British agriculture at the moment,if ever there was a time surely it is now, heard 2 supermarkets claiming they are feeding the nation on the radio this morning,a flour mill on the TV claiming the same, come on let the public know where there food is really coming from.

The Government think supermarkets are the savious (although to be fair Eustace and Gove have thanked farmers too). What they're not saying is the supermarkets have had some days where their turnover has been greater than Christmas rushes (and with no price reductions and streamlining of product lines)

I don't get a lot of this virtuous circle stuff NFU : AHDB : Red Tractor. I've seen plenty of instances where basically AHDB (that we pay levies to) flag up "issues" that the Red Tractor folks then set up a standard to monitor / judge. Why not leave well alone until all food imports can meet our existing RT and other standards?
