Bill for £4.30 for over 3,000kg of wool, a lot of welsh which is never worth much plus mules and texelX. I was going to make some enquiries in a few weeks about who wants it.
Distance kills the job obviously but I’m a damn site closer to Ireland than any board depots!

Really? Mine about the same amount came to a bit then they sent me £320 for sending over a certain amount in. I take to a collection centre that is between my blocks of ground so no haulage.

Perhaps you should look at the latest sale report before making a decision.
The "Irish" only sell to the same people who buy from BW auctions. So wool bought directly off farm actually depresses the auction price.
Yes BW costs are significant but the more they handle the lower the cost per kg.

Haulier picks up here, fills the front half of his lorry and drags.
I have got a £100 organic premium bonus which is supposed to turn up sometime. There was 500 lambs wool fleeces in the mix to which would have been worth a lot more than ewes, they were only done as it was shear or clik them as they were due that week.

to be honest i would sooner sell to bwmb , but after 2 or 3 years of basically giving it to them i was looking around , i more than expect i will stay with them , but patience is getting thin in these times of ever increasing costs , i dont see wool carpets or suits getting any cheaper

It burns easily, best if its fairly newly shorn but couple of years since we had it all bagged up and left a couple of months and it still burnt well.
Tek it to DB wools, close enough for you. I took about 1000 swale fleeces last year think I got over £300, better than burning it
