Where to buy cows

Mix of some jx and frI x nz , weights were from 480kg to 623kg.
Last group were over the £1 a month ago for similar cows too

I've all mine going first 3 days of the week, 3.10 base.

Fleck x bulls £300-£350+ at 3 weeks. Lumps of calves?

Why what are they making

I've averaged £200 for mine. Sold a bunch of 18 weaned for £280 and that included a few pure ones.
Down side I've found is about 1/3 of the fleck cross Holsteins are actually marked just like a fresian. It's very difficult to convince people they are worth a whole load more than a good black and white.
Ones with black body and white head are more in demand which is a bit daft as it's the same breeding and sires.
Few nice ones been through market for £270/80, but just odd best up there.

Montbeliard, Fleckvieh and Simmental would all be similar and i know a few using fleck register them as Simmental. I put mine down as fleckvieh cross. None of these are mine i should add. Mine were sold private.

Will let you know when I start selling. Mine are really square calves. Rep buys a lot and she says she's been paying £400 for sim bulls at 6-8 weeks

Why what are they making

Our fleck and monty x bulls are normally around 200. Ones that look more like sims a bit more, ones that look more friesian a bit less. That's at 5/6 weeks

I can never understand why you would keep and have to go to the expense of testing over 42 days. surely the only winners there would be the vets unless they were really valuable calves.
if you had a routine herd test it might be worth it but then you have the risk of going down.....

View attachment 568606 Brought 3 cows at the dispersal sale at leek today, these 2 are the only 2 that will stand still to have their photo token 2 are 4th calves and the other is a 7th
Just over £1k a peice and generally cows were making their money many heifers and cows over the 2k mark and personally I think they are too much money for what they are at the moment

Came back with 3 older cows, heifers and younger cows making there money and personally I think it's too much. There where some nice British Friesian type heifers about £1100 in the commercial entry which I wish I'd had brought but was waiting on the dispersal
