Yeah but if the driver has wrecked 2 gearboxes they've probably damaged the brakes, engine, axles and God knows what else. I think most people would steer clear of a tractor like that.
If you know any thing about that gearbox fitted it is all looked after by the ECU and will only change gear when it is happy to do so , the man as you say on the seat can not make it change gear until it is ready to, but thanks for @Thomas5060 & your self for you kind words.

You know as well as I do that it's perfectly possible to give it some bazzok, or drive it carefully. The pilot is the greatest variable.

You clearly know nothing about tractor gearboxes as they only change gear when you tell them too, unless they are in auto. I've never pushed the t lever and it not change gear because it " isn't happy to do so" . If you change gear or range under heavy load it will cause a lot more wear than if you are gentle. You may need to learn how the tractor works and then it may not break so frequently as all your machines seem to do.

I remember watching as a fella somehow managed to get a 6480 from what must have been the high 4s into the low 3s going down hill, it was not a pretty sight or sound seeing the bac of the tractor skip down the road as the tyres tried to grip, thankfully it wasn't pulling anything and never suffered any I'll effects that I know off, but if thon would have happened with 10-12 ton behind i can't imagine it would hav been pretty.
Anytime I hear of dyna 6 wit troubles in the 3 range that always pops into my head.
Saying that it was one of the earlier models and maybe it can't happen in newer versions but it still makes me shudder [emoji22]

Hi folks,
Looking for another tractor at 200hp and have a t6080 low bonnet to swap in against it. Looking for something compact with a decent turning circle and front links and pto. Main duties will be mowing with front and rear, carting silage and raking with some big square baling in straw time. Anyone got any ideas? Would a decent t6080 remap to 200hp if you had the high bonnet version with better cooling?
Thanks
Mark

We run new Holland’s like yourself but a few times a year have to run to wales with straw and bales silage, we hire a 6499 from our mechanic, it’s done about 8000 hours but compared to our new Holland’s it is some piece of kit, really is a pleasure to drive compared to the NH and well within your price bracket and plenty of horsepower to do all those jobs

Yeah I think possibly a tier 2 or maybe 3 6499 fergy could be a good shout. I just like the compact size of the t6080 but could do with a good 200hp in that size tractor. I don’t mind remapping aslong as it doesn’t affect the tractors reliability. We are on lots of hills here and im abit weary of having a new holland remapped and pulling a big trailer with it and the lads letting it work hard in the 50k clutch pack and burning it out. It’s about the biggest job to do on a new holland if it burns out. Looked at 7530 but I get a lot of people saying there bad etc but the 6930 isn’t. I don’t now John deeres to be honest so I’m out my depth with them.

take a look at a JCB 3220 fastrac , we had one and it mowed & big baled and did a lot of road work should buy a good one for your money

@Speedstar i actually really fancy a fastrac to be honest. It would be really useful for us for the road work and hauling straw. What hours are they good for until things are getting worn out? Are the 3230 any better or is the 3220 better?
@Mouser would a t7.200 at 150hp be ok to run it at 200 all the time? Would it not pull the clutch pack out of it at 50k pulling up long steady hills? Our fendt 820 is generally hovering around the 45k average speed and this would mean the new holland will be in top gear doing all the pulling work which is supposed to be the weakest gear as the clutch pack is small compared to the 18th gear and lower.
