I have an Apple IPhone 8 which suits me.
Just had home button replaced for £25 ,but considering purchasing a used unlocked iPhone to keep as a spare.
Just wondering what iPhone suits you while doing farm work whether that be live stock , farm machinery etc etc.
I have mine in a Lifeproof case.
Thanks for any comments

12 Mini suits me. Same size as the old ones (SE) so fits in top pocket. Can be a bit small for my aging eyes at times but usually OK.
Silicone bumper cover and haven't broken it yet (more than 12 months old)

12 pro here. Silicone bumper case and lives in my back pocket.
I too am thinking about getting a spare because I've just got a hairline crack on the screen.

12 mini here to replace an original SE. Same size as original SE physically but with no home button bigger screen. Disappointed still on lightning connector as after a while cables/connection can be problematic even after digging fluff out off pirt. For dusty conditions not having home button is a godsend although never had button fail yet.

Always put a tempered glass protector on along with bump protector and phone us like new.

got to be aggrieved at price of them was £489 for 12 mini, think SE was £210 new in 2017. Old SE battery was getting worse with each update but still a capable phone.

Whether we are helping cloud computing each upgrade we do with out knowing is maybe a conspiracy but people I know with top of the range phones don’t really use them to their potential, just a status symbol in a lot of cases.

Do you have wireless charging on it? I have a charge pad beside my bed to sit my SE on while I sleep and rarely use the lightning connector so wouldn’t know if it’s full of fluff and dirt.
Have quickly looked into it and were 40 odd pounds and think i would have to take it out of bump case each charge. Had wireless charging on a sony phone and was great only problem being cradle for it wouldn't take protector or gorilla glass screen protector.
USB C is a much more robust connector in my experience

2 for a tenner from Amazon - have one in the office and one by my bed. I don’t use anything more than a slim case, seem to manage fine with it and prefer the lack of bulk.

Once dropped a naked iPhone 4 on a quarry tile floor. Picked up the phone fearing the worst and it was grand, then looked down and I’d cracked the floor tile :banghead::LOL:

I have an iPhone8 and it suits me fine. However if and when I come to change it, it would be for a 13Pro or the next generation. I keep them for a long time if possible and would want a larger screen than the 8 without the body being bigger. The main thing would be the advance in camera systems on the latest phones, especially the provision of a telephoto lens and batter performance in low light. Would also want 250GB storage to future-proof it for whatever use that is found for 5G.

The screen edge on the 12 is quite vulnerable is all I'd say. The first iPhone screen I've ever cracked and I've had a few since iPhone 4.

I always keep my 8 in a case that protects the edges.

This case is only a couple of months old. The phone must be getting on for four years old by now.

I have a iPhone 12. Always use an otterbox and protector but the glass on the back is cracked. Like the large screen on the 12, used to carry an iPad in my tractor for my cropping software, I now do it all on the phone

12 mini, had a SE before, I’ve got 2 old SE in a drawer as spares, replaced the battery in one so it should be like new if I ever need it
I have a leather case that flaps over the screen, I’ve broken to many screens in my pocket and the leather wallet one seems to suit me the best

im seriously considering swapping my iPhone 13 pro for a Nokia 6310 so I can actually make reliable phone call

then having a smart phone or iPad mini with data sim for all the stuff i need a smart phone to do

Haven't bothered on my last few phones and the screen never gets scratched, I don't have other stuff in the same pocket though.
Just a bump case similar to the one Duck posted above.
Its more if you drop it you are more likely to crack the screen protector than the actual screen. At £2 a go its a lot cheaper and easier replaced than a replacement screen at £60+ which you see a lot of where people don't use bump protectors or screen protectors.

Thanks all useful info.
Anyone bought used Ipad , phone from Music Magpie.?
bought a 5s from there years ago, lightning connector wouldn't work and they replaced it straight away. Give a years warranty and easy to deal with.
The price they are asking for good second hand grades means that there's not a huge differential between new price if you factor in a battery replacement (a lot will have 80% battery health being sold)
