Which Can Am Traxter

I’m pretty much sold on getting a Can Am Traxter, but, i don’t know whether to go for the HD8 or HD10. There will be quite a bit of road work so diesels are out due to speed and i want to have a bit of fun, when on trails etc. How thirsty are they in the real world and are they reliable? Also, what are the legalities of road registering them? Idea is to use it for the short trip from home to the farm (3 miles), instead of taking the Discovery constantly.

I think all you’d need is correct fittings and a transfer pump if it’s the correct fuel type

ebay lpg 4x4 and you’ll want to
Something to look into. What sort of mileage would i get from a tank? Biggest thing is to take pressure off the Disco, but wont bother if i’m constantly filling up

Yes speak to your current supplier of your tank and they will install a transfer pump. Its a mile or 2 per gallon less consumption than petrol but at less than half the price it can be. We install 40l tanks onto the machines, haven't had any complaints on range.

Have you had a go in one?
By far the fastest thing I’ve ever driven, 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds off road iirc.
True, they’re not practical but as far as thrills are concerned you wouldn’t get better bang for your buck.
😂 no, i haven't! Tempted now tho! Biggest gripe is lack of space in the back, carrying any passengers and the wheelchair can go in the back along with the dog etc.

Why not look at the Deere with a glazed cab ? You don’t see many cams with full cabs for sensible money, Thought of that in the rain with no doors etc would leave you taking the disco anyway.

Been told by Carrs no new can am quads or Traxters until at least March, even certain parts becoming a bit sketchy, however this seems to be affecting all brands from what I’ve heard.

You will probably never regret buying the one with the bigger engine. I've test driven a hd8 and loved it. The salesman said hands down their most popular model is the hd8 and occasionally they would sell a 10 if the customer really wanted one but not a big seller.

Biggest issue for me with the new type Gator is the handbrake mechanism, not having use of my legs will be a pain with the handbrake
