Not a dealer, but Knights Farm Machinary have been extremely helpful to me over the last month.
My non-Knights sprayer fried it's engine management ECU and it is now an obsolete part so it is taking a while to sort out and probably won't be back in action until the autumn.
Knights have really helped me out of a hole in many ways. From hiring me a sprayer to get caught up, to helping refurbish a back-up sprayer, their help has been much appreciated.

R&R Mills contractors also got my pea pre-em on for me at very short notice after my sprayer broke-down.
You know where to go for your next sprayer

He also may have had quite a distressed phone call one day near Christmas when I lost a load of muck on roundabout next to them. Quite a few men and a telehandler were VERY quickly dispatched and the muck reloaded and road swept as the police drove by. Beers were nearly as quickly delivered to them and gave him a bottle of whisky

WOW!!

It's refreshing to hear stories like that!! It really makes people appreciate that we're all in this together rather than one person trying/needing to make a quick buck out of another's situation.

Having people like that to call on is invaluable!! I'm not sure I'd be comfortable asking for help like that but that's mainly because I'm not used to receiving it so usually paddle my own canoe. Having a dealer that had my interests at heart and I could trust like that is impressive!!

I must say I was impressed a couple of years ago when the farm I was working when I had to take the tractor to the dealers for it's annual (out of season) service and when I came to pick it up they had swept out the floor and replaced all the windscreen wipers, the washers were suddenly working and every light and switch was all fully functional as well. I'd never have expected that from a dealership out to do regular servicing or is this what customers expect these days?

I must say I continu to be very happy with my local JD dealer. I managed to break two mowers in two days trying to mow a iron pipe and a treestub. Sent the salesman a text if he had a frontmower lying around I could use (and I did tell him why), he says he has a vicon frontmower I can use. I picked it up saterdaymorning but I am sure fridayevening would have been fine aswell but hey.
Not the first time something like this happened and they are always happy to lend me machines.
I am the third generation customer which is a nice thought.

I've always been impressed with one of the fitters from Russell's Northallerton, John, I ask for him to come to our combine to service it, he knows exactly what to look at and has known the machine from new.

2005 machine, cut near 700ac this season and other than a few knife sections it didn't have a spanner on it.

Very pleased - I saw him the other day and told him how pleased I was.

Frightening what these main dealers charge nowadays , i know they have bills to pay but its not for the faint hearted to send anything in to be fixed or serviced. You can see why the one man bands working out of the farm workshop are so in demand at atleast half the money.

I use the actual mechanics very little, I do as much as I can myself. They don't threat me different for that as far as I can gather but they do know that when push comes to shove I come to them.
Also they don't mind me picking things out of their scrapmetal bin, as long as I bring them a crate of beer for it.

I expect the farm you were working on received a bill for the work done though.
Might have swept the floor out before it went in to them;)

Then you get the bill and you’ve been charged £100 a hour for the privilege
