Cut our kingsbarn yesterday, sown 90kg/ha average 15%, very tall but twisted over after heavy shower last week, 19ac ended up with 164 5ft6 round bales and @ 70t
Can you not do simple mathsWhat about grain yield?
Can you not do simple maths
that would read £70/t but it almost double that anywayYour not alone, I thought the @70t was refering to the price per ton of the straw.
In my experience they don't yield any more straw, that was the main reason for me growing them but over the 3 years I grew them I never had anymore straw.2 rows have caught up with hybrids not worth the extra cost I guess unless you want loads of straw
Fair play. We only grew it once a couple of years ago and it did get really tall but the yield was poor, spring barley yielded the same.In my experience they don't yield any more straw, that was the main reason for me growing them but over the 3 years I grew them u never had anymore straw.
I found that by the time the grain was fit enough to get it to thrash well enough to get the awns off the straw would knock up to nothing.
