And its so bad you've still got it 15years later

Well dont I use the deck very often , but have had the cross struts come away if not enough sheep weight on them to hold them in place whilst travelling and to hold the deck door in line I tap wooden wedges in each side to keep the door in centrally line whilst loading and travelling otherwise the lugs shear off and you can't load . Don't let anyone operate it who isn't trained to anticipate it's peculiarities or disaster will occur . It's particularly challenging to use in the dark .

Have a look at Falcon Trailers (Google them), bought the rights off Hudson.
Would advise a 14' over a 12' as with a dividing gate you can go and collect a cow and calf and still bring the quad home.
Wouldn't entertain a twin axle 14', too big tri everytime.
Also in case anybody thinks different if you have a trailer on a ball hitch behind a tractor the weight limit is still 3.5t on the ball regardless of size of tractor.

Well that's a coincidence I looked at the brackets on my divider gates today and wondered how Come they were rusty sounds like a common problem
It wasn't the fact that it rusted at a few months old, it was their stinking attitude towards a customer.

In the end, I took it off and sand blasted it myself and got it galvanised.
Then drew a line under my dealings with IWT.

Not that a company that has sold over half a million trailers to date will care about loosing a few sales.

It is a wonder, I bought a nugent twin deck 2 years ago as it was clear new ifor was not a patch on the one we had for 13 years. Fil followed suit and bought a nugent cattle trailer last year. If that is repeated elsewhere their sales will suffer.

Can you get me a 3.5 ball for tractor?

I preferred the Nugent to the Ifor but the lead time was about 3 months and I had already sold the old trailer privately
Got a 14’ tri Ifor TA510 and it tows a dream compared to the DP. Definitely get the wheels on the outside , especially for cattle

It’s a shame plowmans don’t make a livestock trailer for the Land Rover...that would be a quality item
They made one

Thread's run for nearly 24 hours now. ALL the other ones have gone something like:

Oooh build quality on Ifor not what it was

Terrible customer relations at IWT shocking

Name every other brand. Discussion on how much a Houghton or a Gamic cost, comment on wait time for Gamic, name every other brand, make comment about Indispension units on Graham Edwards and Batesons even if you've never owned one or known a failure.

Go round the houses

Then to a man say you bought or will buy another Ifor as the resale value and cost to change is so attractive

Rinse, spin and repeat

Thinking of changing our 12foot ifor williams livestock box as it's getting pretty tired. Any suggestions on what I should go for as a replacement? Mainly moving cattle, but handy to have decks as keeping a few sheep again now!!
Don't think a 14 foot tri axle would be worth the extra expense, as I understand that they all have gross weight of 3.5t regardless, which is easily achieveable in a 12 foot.
Also wheels on sides or underneath, which is better?
A bigger tractor drawn trailer would be great, but don't think we can stretch the budget that far, so probably have to stick to ball hitch type behind truck.
9 months ago I traded a 10ft demount ifor in for a new 12ft with wheels on outside. Wheels outside get my vote. A lot safer for towing, slightly lower floor height, pulls better out of wet fields. little tyres used to look a bit stressed out when turning and reversing in concrete yards with full loads. Dealer had twin axle in stock fitted with the slightly larger 6.50/16 tyres. Front vent is also a great addition. Only down side I can see might be father clicking a gate post with wheels on side .

That’s all well and good, but which pickup should I use to tow it??
