Which machine for shear grab

Hi all,

got this 5ft mchale shear grab today, going to use it for splitting round bales in half. Would our little JCB 520-50 work it fine or would I be better putting it on our old Sanderson 623? Would prefer it on the jcb but don’t want to do it any harm.

You need to keep them sharp if your cutting round bales!, I have seen the tines bent when trying to cut an old tough round bale!

They are, and won’t be cutting to many. You think the little machine will be fine?

Are the brackets on it for jcb?
I don’t know tbh, try it with a bit of care on a level bit of ground with the boom in and see?

Has manitou on, trying to decide wether to get a set for the jcb or sando

Grab 600kg?
Bale up to 1000kg but Depending on Baler and moisture

should be fine on jcb

Your JCB will handle it fine. A 520-40 at work has never struggled with bales in a Redrock shear grab, and it has a JCB to Euro adaptor adding a bit of weight and length.
