Which make will do most hours JD or Valtra?

Depends how cheap you can get head gasket done on Deere

Or the brakes on a valtra..

If we’re talking old school of 10 series Deere’s vs 50 series Valtra’s then either we’re capable of big hours 20k + but I would say maybe the valtra would edge it.

Newer ones then I’m not so sure either would do the same mega hours with little problems as the old ones before electrical gremlins would creep in, they don’t build them like they used to.

The thing with older tractors is you maybe did lower hours per year over more years so a 20 year old tractor will have only 10,000 hours on it whereas now tractors are so expensive they can’t afford to be sat idle so a 7-10 year old tractor will have 10,000 hours on it.
What you need is a Fendt with their 15 year unlimited hour warranty that produces its own diesel and is worth the same as you paid for it with 20,000 hours on it and never goes wrong. 😂

Id say if ur wantin high hours keep buy a more simple tractor like a jd with manual spools and powerquad box. Also i think a tractor with a 40k box will last longer as 50k is more stress on everythin. Alot depends on the pilot and type of work being done. A tractor could do massive hours on a hedgecutter whereas pullin a large slurry tanker thats questionably too big for the tractor or even to be legal along roads flat out the tractor will be givin trouble by the time it has 10k hours on it or mabe even less

Definitely jd Ive run se and standard models for years with very little trouble my 2007 6620se had 17000hrs before an engine rebuild which was inexpensive. It’s on its 3rd hydraulic pump and 2nd pto pack otherwise it original could do with a new seat though!! I also recently purchased a valtra so hopefully it will be as reliable

I run old and new valtras contracting , the tractor on triple mowers is 12 year old, tedding is 17 , raking is 25 , wagons are pulled by 17, 16 and 2 year olds , last summer we did 2800 acres of grass without any break downs, that is great service from older high hour tractors, most silage outfits I see are running all new tractors , how they pay for them I don’t know.

if the jd was that good why buy a valtra?

I always buy a different make to try them out had a case cvx before it and a 150 deutz before that. I buy on a value for money basis and it was €18k cheaper than equivalent jd it’s a 2012 valtra. I keep my jds for long term. I like to be buying and selling it keeps the mind busy lol
