Between an esab sip and r-tech. Duty cycle best on sip then rtech and esab lowest. Please what are people's opinions on any of these machines. Prices are esab most expensive then sip then rtech

I have sealey mighty mig190. It’s a transformer so big and heavy, but little to go wrong and to be honest as nice as these inverters are to use I can’t justify changing it.

I have an R-Tech Plasma and Tig here, no issues at all with them. I also have the large Mig they sell but have not actually used it yet. I have an old Murex Mig my father bought, must be 30 years ago, still going strong. It was playing up and I couldnt get it working right no matter what I tried so bought the R-Tech Mig as had a lot of welding to do but eventually traced the problem down and fixed it, hence why I havent used the R-Tech one.
I will say they are a 1st Class business to deal with, promt and efficient.

I've got an R-Tech. I bought it purely as they are down the road from me in Gloucester. They used to repair an old Gys Tig I had many years ago and this was part of the reason I purchased a MiG from them. Their customer service was brilliant and repairs very reasonably priced on the Gys.

I've had no problems with it in two years and as its inverter based it will work as MMA and tig with the correct cables.

The sip hg4500 is a beast of a welder. Does every thing my migatronic, esab and warrior does. Happily welds all day with very little stopping. Good for being synergic with 4t trigger.

i bought a tec arc 400 amp mig welder on single phase. Had to wait a month for it but worth it and very happy. Wasnt that expensive in my mind for the spec and quality of welder. Also its very hard to get that size of welder in single phase, it is 60% duty cycle at 400 amps, i dont use it at full amps however never near cutting it out yet.

What sort of amps do you think you really get out of a machine like this. Thinking of getting a big single phase in new year either tecarc portamig or oxford. Thanks

well, im running the welder down the setting a bit and running about 290 Amps, doing a good weld and burning in well. You need a good power source running into the shed to run the welder. I cant run mine on the very top setting as it will blow the trip, you will need 63amp trip. Im happy i went with the bigger size as it means im never worried about the duty cycle. I had a 300 amp welder before and i was stood beside the welder most of the time while it cooled down. when going for the 400 instead of the 350 it was only maybe 100 to 200 dearer and i thought its better using a bigger welder down the power than a smaller welder looking for more power / or better duty cycle

I have a single phase Oxford mig running at 450A, when I need it.
it's a good welder and has done a lot of welding with no trouble.

Thing is tho, and I'm only going on "feel" here mind but I have a 200A Miller inverter here, a stick version so apples and oranges to a point but to me miller's 200A is about Oxford's 250-280A kind of thing but as I say, different types of welding.
of course very different prices so ya gets what you pay for.

I had a portamig, in 3 rolls of wire it needed mending twice. Portamig weren’t to helpful, in fact useless really. The last time it broke it wasn’t worth mending so I had a warrior welder from Phill Weeks and it’s twice the welder the portamig was. Speak to them and they will sort you out with a welder that is what you need and back it up should it need.

Second the warrior mig. Phil does solid machines, They are great with good duty cycle, not as snazzy looking as some but all good internals which is the main objective.

Different voltage between the 2 make it feel like that?
