Thinking of swapping our Amazone 28meter 2000L mounted sprayer. Been a good sprayer but only thing that lets it down is the time it takes to fold/unfold. Anyone running a landquip or kuhn. And other make with a tidy folding boom worth looking at.

ran a landquip for av few years with the ally booms. a good sprayer with great service. ours had the standard booms which took a fair bit of punishment on veg work, folding at every end etc.. would have been better with the contractor booms but for the work it did and still does it was good. chae1 also has landquip as does bumblebee.

When you say standard booms. Did they fold over the cab roof or vertical behind the sprayer.
alongside the cab. the contractor booms are a bit heavier built and the rams on the elbow joint are on top of the boom instead of in the framework . i suggest you speak to richard abbott at landquip( the owner) as he is most helpful and will build to your spec.. saying that our booms didn't crack or break up.

I've ordered a landquip mounted 28m like this one for my fastrac. Pommier booms are delaying it as they haven't arrived from France. It does concern me slightly the time to fold and unfold having watched YouTube clips of it. 42 seconds on clip. How long does Amazone take?

All the progressive farmers are going 36m horsch trailed.

If the time it takes to fold booms in and out is the most critical Point of buying a sprayer
its time you employed some one part time to help out ,or not spend so much time on here
Maybe he comes on here when waiting for booms to fold in.

If you've lots of ten acre fields like we do and have to fold up completely going between fields time would add up. Same if folding up at poles.

It’s not too bad if they fold up at the same time. most of the time ours fold at the same time at first than one slows down and stops until the other is folded up.
I think on the new sprayer I will get it so I have a spool valve for each side boom, Can fold them up individual to go round poles. i will time the Amazone this afternoon.

On my amazone sprayer you can alter the flow at each valve with a allen screw, takes a bit to set up but worth it, brilliant sprayer.

I’ve got a Knight for several reasons main one being they are very local at the time of buying I was having trouble getting berthoud bits because of the channel tunnel strikes. I decided to have gull wing booms and I like the fact a fair bit of their weight is infront on rear wheels when on the road they are simpler and cheaper downside is height.

Booms like that are an accident waiting to happen on narrow Cornish Roads with trees on the hedges 🤦
