Looking to change our 9 foot mower for something similar or a foot wider. Must be a disc mower and without a conditioner. What is the best out there please?

The new SIP mowers with the overengineered headstocks look promising.
Thanks for the positive comment. Yes the new headstock and booms are heavier than before but this is due to many bigger tractors being used even on 4m mowers these days plus 50:60kph compatibility. Mowing generally never damaged frames, high speed road transport did. New frames also feature a higher transport locking position too for extra security

Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for on a well used second hand 2015-17 Silvercut 380?

I'm happy enough with my 9' Malone, bought on the back of the build on my tedder. There are only a handful of bed manufacturers, which the mower makers generally buy in, so most will do the same job anyway.
The Malone has a Comer bed, like many, but the headstock is built in usual Irish fashion, as with the tedder. Price was very competitive at the time too, but no idea how they stand now.

New Malone mowers are very cheap down here, cheaper than Fransgard. a lot of near new ones seem to get traded in down the road and swapped out for another brand.

I still haven't quite figured out why that is or what makes them so bad.
