I apologise if the above has been asked on TFF before. If it has please point me to the relevant thread.
If it hasn’t please can you reply to my thread.
I am asking the above as a major housing development is starting on the out skirts of our local town. It would be interesting to get some aerial/satellite pictures of the farmland before the developers rip all the hedges etc out. In a year a so’s time it would be interesting to see what the same area looks like. The pics would prove that developers etc are the ones destroying wild life habitat and not farmers.

Does the development not include lots of green areas and tree planting, as most big new developments do?

There’s one planned back home that will see a lot more trees planted than is on the intensive arable land that is there currently.

If they do what they say on the website,
www.Chesterton Cirencester.co.Uk ( the website title should be all lower case and one long word),I may have been jumping the gun but time will tell.

Google Earth is quite probably the best you are going to find for free, then drone not for free.
Use all of them, Bing, Magic, Ordnance Survey and whoever else might supply suchthings. If you have all of them then one of them is going to update before the other.

Google earth, Bing maps, Google maps, OS survey maps.

The area will have different pictures on these services, some will be better than others but it changes with the area. Where I am now Bing maps has the best resolution but where we lived before it was Google maps.

I think I am correct in saying ,that Cotswold Planning haven’t insisted that all the new houses etc built on the new development have to have solar panels on the roof, and a form of heating that uses heat from the ground ,as well as rain water harvesting system for flushing the toilets. An eco friendly housing development lost from the initial planning stages, so much for forward thinking to help save the planet :banghead::mad:

Google earth is best bet, when its loaded up click the wee date on bottom left of map, will open a slider with all images available from all various dates. We must be on a flight path here or summit cos we are updated nearlt every six months!
Bing does usually have slightly better resolution if they've managed to avoid the clouds!

That’s because it’s not always possible to get the grid to export all this Pv.

Download google earth on desktop, top left are some buttons, find the slider and it will probably have 10-15 images going back to the 40’s.

Could always go and knock on the Estate’s office door and ask to see the contents of their plan chest😂

That would just be lazy thinking, if we are talking large scale, new development. Numerous options available, albeit at a cost.

Grid upgrade costs for the export could run into £millions as we both know though.

RW harvesting and similar on the other hand is easy to do.

If they have to build 40% affordable though that eats into any margin big time and I doubt the family would have sold it below market value, even the proceeds end up of shore!

Very true on grid connections, but could have been partly offset when one considers the possible future loads in teh wider area, as EV's take off.

However, as you rightly say, there are plenty of other areas that could have been improved. But why would they when the building regs are so lame....

I would be surprised to see a 40% affordable, that is massive...
