Which straw spreader, Loader mounted or trailed?

As above can't decide. Quite like the Wessex bale unroller with the straw spreader attachment for the telehandler and trailed machines look good as well. I'm more interested in opinions between the two different methods. Actual brands will come down to local dealers. Can you get a loader mounted spreader than can swivel side to side slightly for bedding pens?

Teagle do their tele hawk I think they call it, similar to their trailed machines but fits on the front of a loader.
Personally I'd prefer a trailed one, reckon something sticking out that far in front and reducing visibility wouldn't be the best around most farm yards.

Will depend on the machine you have to put it on.
I'm in the process of looking at this. Went to see a neighbour who has a Lucas Castor 20 yesterday. I was impressed at how manoeuvrable it was in tight spaces and how the distance of throw meant he could cover his sheds. Only disadvantage is size of tractor needed. He was running on a JD 6140R but it managed it without any front weights. Other neighbours have spread-a-bale on handlers. They take more room and are less flexible from what I have seen.
It's all a question of your machine availability and building layout. The Lucas really impressed me.

Used 1 off these along time ago, couldn't fault it, ran on the back of an old international to straw turkey sheds.

Only thing In see against a handler mounted one is the hooking on & off all the time, if you need to use another attachment for feeding, yeah it maybe only takes a minute or so but it can start to annoy after a while....have a mounted one here on an old tractor that does nothing else, someday it will be upgraded to a trailed.
