Looking to upgrade my 2 rotor Lely 300 before next year, have looked at both the Massey 676 (standard tines) or 776 (hook tines) or the Malone 4 or 6 rotor, would be looking to use on 80 hp tractor, have 120 hp if required, making mostly hay, thanks in advance

Avoid the 676 it’s a Fella design, to weak. The 776 is Lely so will be good.
Can’t comment on Malone. I’d also look at Pottinger and Sip.

I bought a 4rotor krone brand new last year and my thoughts are on it it doesn't seem to spread the grass out seems to lump it up I tried setting it defent ways but still the same so iv sold it know and looking at getting a lely because they seem to spread the grass far better

What's the point in tedding out silage when the mower has got a conditioner on it.

Contradicting yourself there?

We had a 4 star krone, upgraded and I mean upgraded to an 8 star pottinger, slower forward speed, smaller rotors = no lumps!

After years of saying hooked tines were just a gimmick, I’m not surprised...;)
I’ve never said they were a gimmick. They were a necessity for wider diameter rotors. I’ve used them back to back so many times that I’ve lost count and honestly you hardly see any difference between hook tines and small diameter rotor’d tedders with vertical tines. But the market speaks so we now offer a choice. The hay men appear to prefer the small rotor diameter tedders In the main (not all but many I know)
