What are the pros and cons between pivot steer and rigid types?
We are a mixed arable 70% and livestock 30% farm

we've had both types over the years.
Pivot steer: less reach due boom having to be shorter, far better visibility and nicer to drive, don't eat tyres (1 set last many years), often more expensive. Big cab.

Rigid type: Longer reach, visibility much worse, eats tyres, often cheaper, crab steer makes getting away from walls easier than pivot types. Normally more readily available than pivot on second hand market.

JCBs have generally been good for me, currently have a 531-70.

TM320s : + Pushes like a bulldozer brilliant on a clamp, excellent visabilaty, nice cab, easy maintenance, next to no tyre scrubbing

- Slight lack of reach, no the best for towing can get a bit of "fish tailing", not the easiest to keep getting on off if your around cattle openng and shutting gates,
