Specing a tractor 215hp mainly for drilling either with 4 meter weaving gd drill or 4 meter combi which tyres would get the power down to the ground best 650/42 or 710/42 I currently have a 250hp tractor that’s due for replacement and with the rise in tractor prices it looks like a down size I’m worried about the less power and a ton less in weight but the big tractor was probably over kill ?

PM Clive what he has on his 724's and what width they are think you'll find if your not going anywhere near a furrow wall or a potatoe row, that style of tyre will be ideal.

I'm having the same dilemma

659 42 with 540 fronts either trellbourg or michillen
Or
650 75 r38 with 600 65r28 fronts Michelin?

What to go for?
Just to add, I got 710/70/38 Michelin's mached to 600/65/28 here, they have the same rolling radius as 650/65/42 and grip fantastic.

We had Kleber 650/75r38 on a 6495, good all round tyre for ploughing and topwork. Have just traded tractor in for 18 month old ex-hire 7726S coming in from England. Putting Mitas 650/75r42 on it . Good bit cheaper than 650/85r38 from same manufacturer. Tractor is coming off veg farm with 20.8's so needed a change.
