Which tyres would people have preference for making the least mess on soft grassland?
600/65r38 or 580/70r38?
Or naff all difference between the 2?

They are different heights and you need different front tyres to go with each of them. They will change the speed of your tractor and the torque available in each gear.Which tyres would people have preference for making the least mess on soft grassland?

My BKT 580/70r38. Are hardly 580mm wide, and mounted on 20" rimsMy 580 70 x 38 BKTs are 620 mm wide, had a friend with 600 65 38 Michelin were only 570 mm wide. and the Michelin's were very poor, cracked, and wore out very quickly. rubbish tires IMO.
A8 is 40kAre A8/b tyres ok at 50km? Got 580/70r38 155d now but there's more choice otherwise
i had 650 michys that were bareley 600 wideMy BKT 580/70r38. Are hardly 580mm wide, and mounted on 20" rims
That's what's confusing me. Is a8/b dependant on load? Farm marketplace don't list any faster rated tyresA8 is 40k
B is 50k
C is 60k
D is 65j
There's 180,170,155 load ratings but all A/B. I'm not looking to carry massive loads on a four cylinder, but do 50k towing a stock box. Rest of the time need grip on steep grassland.Usual there will be different weight ratings for A8 and for B.
They may be putting both on because the tyre was originally only 40k rated and the b rating is only an afterthought or poor?
I would prefer a C or D rated tyre for most modern tractors doing a lot of heavy road work, as most 50K tractors are doing 54-55k. But you seem to be only doing a little bit of light road work, B rated tyres will be more than good enough for anything above. Then more depends on what tyre you think will give you best traction on steep grassland. I like Michelin Omnibibs but they are dear and D rated. BKT agrimax 65 series seem very good middle priced tyres, but again D rated. There's 180,170,155 load ratings but all A/B. It's had trelleborg from new,now worn out but hopeless for grip anyway once past 50% tread because the tread bars are so wide they don't bite the surface.I would prefer a C or D rated tyre for most modern tractors doing a lot of heavy road work, as most 50K tractors are doing 54-55k. Always was a failing of Pirelli, now Trelly, wear for ever, but you may as well be on slicks once they are down. It's had trelleborg from new,now worn out but hopeless for grip anyway once past 50% tread because the tread bars are so wide they don't bite the surface.
Years and years since I had any experience with Vredestein, but they always were a great wearing tyre, they did have a few sidewall issues back in the day, but I am sure they have those sorted. What's people's opinion on Vredestein? Are the Traxion 65 as long lasting as the older Traxion+ on road work? Hope so as I'm putting a full set on this tractor..
Kleber fitker are a very good wearing tyre the treads are a lot bigger than most when new !!I had the same problem because just bought a 716 profi
my first joice was bkt but was not available in greece until may, so i bought kleber fitker
if money is not a problem go for michelin, otherwise bkt is the best choise and the cheapest
