Going to sow some white clover in a month or so time after some vining peas so it is established before drilling wheat into it in October. Will probably spray clover with glyphosate once or twice before drilling to take out any weeds and to knock it back pre drilling.
The question is which sort of white clover would be best suited ie needs to be prostrate and not to vigorous,Kent wild white has been suggested, your thoughts would be appreciated.

Are you actually trying to kill the clover in the crop, or leave it as a semi permanent understorey?
If the later then low rate glyphosate will take out other annual weeds and leave the clover in your scenario. I have heard that it works in year 1 but if the clover is needed to provide fertility as well then it needs to be mown, or grazed regularly. See Clive's organic no-till thread
