He has appealed etc against his conviction a number of times in the last 35 years.

Where did his parents get the money from to keep funding him? They seemed to have an endless supply of cash for him. Cars, round the world trips, giving him land, house etc..

I can’t imagine been in jail that long imagine the emotion of getting best free it would be very strange.

27 year ago they changed his sentence from 25 year to life.
That must have been some blow for a 33 year old

Never understand people who give kids money etc , if you don’t make it off your back you get nothing here .

You can give them money, its what they do with it that's important.
Some will use it, some will invest it, and others will waste it.
There are plenty that have been given a farm and made it far more than it was.

A good friend of mine has three grown up daughters.

Many years ago, she said if she gave them all a tenner, and sent them off to do what they wanted with it, the following would happen:

Daughter 1 would come back having made the 10 quid into about 15
Daughter 2 would come back with about 2p but owe nowt to anyone
Daughter 3 would come back wanting another tenner to clear what she owed.

She was bang on.

I can remember this when it happened, it was a dreadful thing. From what I remember of the botched investigation and then the subsequent one which lead to his being found guilty, from what I read in the newspapers, the TV adaptation was accurate.

They were a wealthy family, that is why they had money to give him, I guess.
