We have 10 6ft toppers made, 5 4ft Toppers made ready to sell and no one wanting to take on stock now. Another 10 toppers lined up to be profiled in the next week. The grass will grow so people will buy eventually. Especially when they find their old votex has rotted over winter with the horrendous rain we had.

Spoke with a good friend of mine and he is changing out some gear mostly to speed the job up and bring one or two jobs in house again. I guess taking advantage of his time or what full time labour he has available. I know having contractors in is often well justified but they produce a bill at the end of the day the same as anything else.

After lengthy consultation with my accountant and bank manager I have invested in another used haybob.
I lay awake most of last night worrying if I have done the right thing....
That's the trouble with running businesses based on what so called 'professional advisors' suggest.
Any decent accountant or bank manager would have also advised you to heavily invest in puncture repair kits as well.

And an experienced Bank Manager will suggest you toddle along to a local tyre company, and make an investment in two car tyres for it...

The saving in downtime is but part of the reward, the saving in curses on a Sunday afternoon as a storm beckons is much, much greater

I get this, 1 wide new drill that costs more to start with, that only needs 2 people to keep it going (1 on loader) is cheaper than paying extra people to run 2 smaller older drills in the long run. Full time staff are definitely more expensive than kit.
So your drilling setup is standing you around £350,000?
that was the price of a farm not long ago
