Just checked using my phone -118 dBM 26asu. Speed check shows 20Mbps download
Smaller numbers are better so your 85 looks good
A proper 4G router sited in a favourable place will do much better. My phone in the office is getting 20 Mbps Before we got FTTP we used a 4G service, router close to where I am now, without an external antenna, speed was consistently about 50Mbps

The 4G mast is about 1.5 miles away with an almost clear line of sightView attachment 959815

@sandy2210 - how are you getting on with your setup? I have an external antenna with mine and it has been very good so far. No drop outs & no faffing around with finding the best location for the router.

That’s the external antenna to the left of the Sky dish.

Cards should work as long as your router is " unlocked" IE not locked to a specific network . One supplied by ee probably is locked. Cannot comment on the costs. Try phoning them. Sometimes discount if you already a customer

Due to the very high frequency nature of 4G, extending the cable is generally not recommended due to signal losses in the cable.
So you might find the external antenna not much better when you extend the cable.
However it's impossible to say (to many variables).

Generally you would normally have the router inside an external 4G dish, then do the long run back to a network switch with cat5/6 Thus mitigating the signal losses in the cable.
I used one of these:
https://mikrotik.com/product/sxt_lte6_kit
which is a router and 4G dish in 1, then run Cat6 back to a switch.
However at my location I can only get 10mb down and 40mb up, I suspect my local mast's connection is overloaded, so they are turning everyone down. which is why I don't see 40 down, only 10.

As mentioned above, not good extending the antenna cable. The gain from the antenna will be lost by the losses on the cable. Our first attempt at getting a 3/4 G signal was before the local mast was upgraded. Had the router fastened 8 meters up in the gable peak of a big shed. Only place with line of sight to mast Then cat cable back to office. That can be up to 100 metres without lose.

I have tried an EE sim and getting 20mbs + just with router sat on window ledge.
So need to look for an EE deal.
Do I really need unlimited?
How much do people normally use?
General browsing and Amazon prime mainly
