I did without one a tv for 5 years but my big sis felt sorry for me and gave me a big flat screen one. I only have it wired into a dvd/video player so I can watch my old war film collection in front of the woodburner.
We have a digital projector and put on film shows in one of the old sheds. It is full of old sofas and has a whitewashed wall and decent speakers, so we have some good evenings in there.

Where do you get an unlimited dongle for £20?

I realised over 10 years ago that I rarely watched any TV, so I stopped paying the TV tax. Took several years of threats, nasty letters and visits before the TV tax authorities would leave me be.

I do watch some TV with my parents who are in thier 70s .. most of it seems trash IMHO. I used to like listening to Radio 4 but that's turned to trash as well.

Pay my TV license to fund the radio but don't have a TV. Internet watching of video/TV probably about 4 hours per week, radio 24/7/365

bought a dongle for 40 odd quid, and it came with a giffgaff sim card.
It's unlimited but after 6gigabytes it drops down to 260 kbps or summit like that. We don't use too much so it seems to work grand!

  13. I don’t watch much tv at all , much prefer to listen to the radio , but at £2.88/wk for the license it’s good value for money . Television viewing was a lot better when we only had a handful of channels , too many rubbish programmes made now just to fill up the airtime .

We have a telly with a built in dvd player, kids have lots of DVDs, if I never seen a TV program again it wouldn't bother me in the slightest
I would not last long without internet
One day I will get You tube connected to the TV

Not had one for 20 years or so. Don't miss it. Don't like the harrassment from the licence people though, I've got a file of arsey letters from them. As an organic lentil farmer with no telly you might get an idea how I got my username, it doesn't sound much fun does it?

Haven't had a TV for about 8 years now. Got rid of it out of the sitting room when I got a puppy, was worried about him chewing wires, never put it back, and never looked back. Have broadband so can watch anything I want on streaming, which you don't need a licence for. In fact you can watch loads of shows on the streaming sites years before they hit the UK's screens. It only takes a few hours for a show to be uploaded somewhere after its shown in the US. Watch a lot of documentaries on Youtube as well.

Quest TV has its own catch up site, where you can stream all the programmes that they broadcast on the TV:
