Who has replaced Guy Smith at Red Tractor?

dusty bin

all three better than mgs

Nope, I've come up with one better.

Oscar the grouch. Look through the facts here:

1. Well known by the public and loved: no scandals in his history.

2. Consistent and strongly on message. Appeals to a wide audience. I understand even President Putin confides in him from time to time, usually when he feels he has to ring and confess to doing something 'ever so naughty'.

3. Lives in a trash can, so a move to RT HQ won't bother him a jot, just a change of address really.

That's not a CBA situation IMHO, that's a I'll pay my dues and get "employ" someone else to represent my interests.
The issue with any representative organisation is they have to represent everyone, big, small, organic, conventional, arable , livestock.

Within those there is of course

Sorry Sid. Messed about with your post somehow.
IMHO a National Farmers Union should represent farmers as a whole. Isn't that the purpose of a union? If its membership includes buyers and supermarkets et al then yes, there will certainly be a conflict of interests in its representations.

It's not a Union. It's a trade association. That is why corporations and supermarkets pay to join them and it is why you as a farmer have no discernible influence over them

Think it was maybe yourself Tarw who uploaded a letter saying you needed RT beef, along with the dairy??? From the assessment company?

Not sure it says that in the standards though?

As you suggest "tying" (the condition of supply of one product is that you purchase a second) is illegal under competition law. Not sure if this contravenes the law or not.
Yes , probably was me.its on the form the assessor asks you to sign at the end of an inspection. It seems to very clearly state that a RT dairy farmer has to join RT beef too. That’s not from my latest inspection, stored on my phone from a previous inspection but the same or similar wording was on a form from a recent inspection .
I’m also aware that they probably can’t make you join RT beef but that’s certainly not what that document implies.
