Care to suggest why? The Lib-Dem candidate doesn't strike me as someone that farmers would normally vote for. Although your Tory MP comes across as a bit of a brainless wonder. I wonder whether that has had an impact?

The fields alongside the 'A' roads of Brecknockshire are awash with blue at the moment.

I’ve no idea. The Lib Dem candidate seemed to promote themselves on the basis that nobody else locally can stop the Conservatives getting the seat, so vote for them on the basis that they’re not Tories.
Policies don’t seem to come into it much, proclaiming the same as all the others tbh.

It's not about power, its about responsibility. Will vary from parish to parish but for instance I am vice chair of the PC and chair of the playing field which is owned by the PC so that creates a good dynamic. Then there is the finance committee who sort out applications for funding for various projects using income from the solar parks. We also have a voice when holding our district and county cllrs to account. It's not about power or some glory trip, its about giving back to the community and letting people have maybe a louder voice than they usually would have. Our parish is 2 wards and in ours people really get stuck in and help maintain the things we need to maintain for nothing more than the satisfaction. In the other ward you can't anyone to do anything and all they do is moan about everything being crap.

That said, I do expect there are some pretty backward PCs out there. I think ours is pretty good.
A lot of villages would do anything to have a Parish Council like yours . Unfortunately, in the main , it seems it's a power trip for a lot of people .
I've dealt with a lot of PCs over the years and it was fairly obvious that many sat on the PC with their own agenda .

Well I went to the polling station last night to cast my vote ..... I was the 6th person they had go in all day ! ....I went in at 9.30 !
It shows how much interest there is in voting for a commissioner.
It might also be the fact that more postal voting might have been done .

WTF does a police commissioner do except cost the tax payer a shed load of cash?
Them Duke boys ain't gonna chase theyselves, now, are they?

Balls they are. They have a stated policy of promoting vegan over meat, which means they are the party against livestock farmers.

Veganism is a sideshow. If your business or ours goes tits up it wont be because of vegans, it will be due to corporate control of the food chain. The GP are your allies on that one more than the other parties.
If you take GP policy on food, farming and the environment in the round you will see that it is far more pro-UK livestock producers than it is anti.

what is their view on Badgers and culling and TB? Also re wilding, releasing Beavers, and large apex predators?

Same as all the other parties. Shambolic, contradictory, naive. We live in an urban society and all political parties reflect that.

George Galloway's All for Unity party was the only party that mentioned Agriculture and Farming in their manifesto. Still didn't get any seats to take out wee Nicola.
