I had messages left on my RPA site telling me about mapping changes that had occurred and I needed to verify them.
The first two changes were for field numbers that I did not have and were two small parcels of 0.1 ha each. When I looked at the map they were on a neighbouring farm some half a mile away. The other changes were for my fields but had not altered the areas.
I phoned RPA about the land that was not mine and asked them to remove it. However the person I spoke to said that I had better send them an email to make sure it happens.
Three weeks went by and yesterday I had a garbled message from someone whose first language was not English telling me that they could not reply by email as the email I had sent was not from the one they had for me! Now I used my SBI number on the email, I used the reference and dates on the messages from the RPA, I put in the field numbers and the areas concerned but it was a different b****y email. How many people use different emails these days?
Anyway I phoned today and after a half hour conversation they said I have to complete and RLE 1 form to correct this mistake!
Now I am concerned that if I complete this form to delete this extra land that is not on my holding and I did not put it there or have any intention of claiming, will this not further complicate their error?
I suggested that as they had added it incorrectly then they should just remove it and not ask me to complete a form for their error!
Perhaps I am just being silly but common sense would surely have saved me at least an hour on the phone.
What if I don't complete the RLE 1 form and it appears on my next claim form, but I won't claim it, yet my neighbour will discover he has these two tiny pieces of land taken out of his fields!!!
Why cannot the RPA do this the easy way?
