Who Should Put Right The RPA's Mistakes?

I had messages left on my RPA site telling me about mapping changes that had occurred and I needed to verify them.
The first two changes were for field numbers that I did not have and were two small parcels of 0.1 ha each. When I looked at the map they were on a neighbouring farm some half a mile away. The other changes were for my fields but had not altered the areas.

I phoned RPA about the land that was not mine and asked them to remove it. However the person I spoke to said that I had better send them an email to make sure it happens.
Three weeks went by and yesterday I had a garbled message from someone whose first language was not English telling me that they could not reply by email as the email I had sent was not from the one they had for me! Now I used my SBI number on the email, I used the reference and dates on the messages from the RPA, I put in the field numbers and the areas concerned but it was a different b****y email. How many people use different emails these days?

Anyway I phoned today and after a half hour conversation they said I have to complete and RLE 1 form to correct this mistake!
Now I am concerned that if I complete this form to delete this extra land that is not on my holding and I did not put it there or have any intention of claiming, will this not further complicate their error?

I suggested that as they had added it incorrectly then they should just remove it and not ask me to complete a form for their error!
Perhaps I am just being silly but common sense would surely have saved me at least an hour on the phone.

What if I don't complete the RLE 1 form and it appears on my next claim form, but I won't claim it, yet my neighbour will discover he has these two tiny pieces of land taken out of his fields!!!

Why cannot the RPA do this the easy way?

What gets me is that if the RPA change my fields/maps in anyway I would have to then have my agent send an RLE1. This would be costing me money for something they have fooked up, when I currently can’t claim BPS on my land so would be even more out of pocket than I currently am !.

Further more the RLE1 that was sent with my 2015 claim appears to have never even been processed.

I think there is gonna be a huge load of rle1 forms coming their way. And the speed they process them they will have secure jobs for a good few years just dealing with them

Unbelievably they have just sent me another 5 changes!!
One of which is not my land again and another that was a temporary sheep pen.

They are going to make themselves a lot of work, perhaps that is why they have done it!!

Three separate lots of changes her so far with 14 parcels affected :banghead::banghead:
Margins in arable fields now coded as permanent pasture. Parcels separated by permanent electric fence that have been on the system since it first started suddenly amalgamated.
Another RPA disaster looming.

Had a look at ours today. 27 updated fields. 6 fields amalgamated with the next door field. Two fields split along old boundaries. One field has been split into 4 fields along the old boundaries that were removed in 1992. Where the hell have they got their latest maps from ffs?

If I posted the screen shots I have of my maps and the screen shots of the same fields on google earth, you can clearly see where whoever has drawn around stuff and then given it some random description.

Yes, all very worrying . We intend to do some survey work to gauge the extent of this and the RPA need to prepare them selves for a Tsunami of RLE1 forms in the new year. The prospect of this backing up as we approach May15th next year is alarming.

This exercise has been put off for three years, the question is how much would it cost the UK in disallowance if it was put off another 2-3 years.

Same here regarding an RLE1 form sent in two maybe three years ago. Never processed, and yet this year I was worried to see a message asking about a change , only to find they’ve added part of the yard where I park machinery that I’ve never claimed on.
0.04 ha .

Now the interesing part come when any map based scheme where you entered the parcel numbers (eg Higher or mid tier css) and you will get your pack in February , after the start date, and half of the parcels will be missing due to remapping and spend another afternoon or agents fees sorting out THEIR bloody mess!!

It’s quite a profitable little job for a few hours work! It is a little frustrating though I will admit and we have to mind it’s not the thin end of the wedge.
