How late can you realistically plant Spring Barley for whole crop ?
What sort of tonnage could you expect to get off a decent crop ( say 2.5 tonne to acre combine crop )

As in, you haven't planted it yet? I wouldn't know, never tried planting in May.

Re yields, can be highly variable. Our 2019 crop yielded 12t/acre and 2018 crop 7.2t/acre but that was really short. Both went over a weighbridge on the way out from the pit after several months. We haven't finished weighing our 2020 crop yet but it's easily over 10t.

We’ve been dribbling in SB since March and only finished the last 30ac a few days ago.
As it’s been so dry and cold, I don’t think it’ll make much difference in tonnage even sown within next 10 days

I dont think you e missed much, as The soil has been too cold.
Drilled sb round here so far is thin.
Poor germination and seedling survival has been a problem in the dry and desicating cold.
