Who on earth do youthink you are? There are obvoiusly 2 sides on here:- for the SOP and against the SOP and just becuase somebody on your side likes a post or two of somebody on the SOP side and just because someone is obviously on the SOP side and youre not winning the argument, you call them contemptible! I have to admit, I wasn't sure of the meaning so I googled it (even though you mis-spelt it):- google says other words you could of used for your put downs are:- despicable, detestable, hateful, deplorable, loathsome, revolting, offensive (there are more)

Now i know im not the brightest spark in the fire, but I do know that this is uncalled for. To call them a "sad sad pair of individuals " and contemptible because they stand up for something they believe is not on. I hate to break the news to you but TFFis not all about you and your gospels which are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You said you want to call time on this thread, but again, you want to have the last word. why couldnt you just have left it alone instead of insulting and trying to get one up on them? Ive been on the end of that sharpened pencil (ok keyboard) of yours before and it can hurt as you well must know, and you Howard150 are the sole reason i stopped posting on here.

Eyup Fordy, yet again so soon. Apologies for causing offence in using the term sad, what I really should have said is sad, wooden headed with a lack of reading skills compounded and made worse by memory loss.

The liking / not liking bit is all part and parcel for social media and is something I have no control over and care even less about. If both you and your new best buddy gNasher had sufficient memory capability, you would have remembered what you had read at the beginning of the post which was that it’s seemingly ok for your other new best buddy to run down the SOP, scandalise the judges whilst gNasher condemning both myself and Bob for the same misdemeanour. Him and gNasher falling out, then falling truly madly deeply back in with him, and then liking posts against people whom he had tried to coerce into starting a new society. gNasher demeaning Colin Bowen’s ploughing ability, And that’s before we ask who it was that started this very thread in which said blind man on said galloping horse could have seen what the ulterior motive was - nothing other than an attack on the SOP. Give me and Bob a bit of credit - at least we are consistent. Let’s just hope all this forgetfulness is not early onset Alzheimer’s. I would not wish anything bad to become any of you.

Bin together a long time now Fordy, since this post you put on about John Plowright on the 9th of July 2015.
‘Two of my friends are fortunate to plough in the National most years (world style and classic) and are appalled with some of what they have heard through the grapevine which they know for a fact is untrue, with everything being twisted a little more as it is passed on. One was approached by the man driving this campaign and feigned his support to him so as not to provoke him (He may be a good fundraiser but I know him from years ago as a spiteful man who I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw him. His motives will be for his own glory and nothing else.)
Another friend does not plough and is another non active member. We are all satisfied with the society and National but none of the others have computers so you won't see them on any forums nor would they attend meetings, or if they did, they wouldn't speak as that is their nature’

Would be sad to end it all now easpecially after those endearing drink laden tirades you used to post on here after midnight and the beer had loosened your tongue, especially the bit about your mam and how upset she would be, not having brought you up that way, Chinese Whispers?

Next time the four of you are having a cuddly ménage a quatre, just have a whisper in boysies ear and ask him who has been filling his head full of rocks. especially the bit about your other new best buddy being England coach.

Just a small point but if it’s a war of attrition you want - then crack on. No doubt about it, you will lose.

Here we go again. Select the parts that suit. I did not demean Colin I thought p61 was talking about 2015 where Colin will admit he didn't go straight, I also apologised for my mistake. Something that seems to be beyond you, or maybe I am wrong again and you are so perfect you don't make mistakes. You seem to know a lot that goes on at the national even though you don't attend, yet when anyone else posts things you don't like it's hearsay. Double standards? We're you bullied at school? Often that turns people into bullies themselves. Boysie is now getting the treatment just because you don't like what he says. Are you any good at darts or snooker?

I doubt if
Is it a tall order qualifying in the first instance? Talking to a chap in the classic at our local match he had been all over trying too qualify, is there some strong competition in the YFC?
Sometimes it can be. First time I did I ended travelling a long way oop north to about the last match of the season, and still came second...but luckily to my nemesis who had already qualified! I do 3 to 4 qualifiers a year and have managed to get in ok since then. My advice is just keep going to the qualifiers and you’ll eventually do it.

Yfc is good but they don't have to qualify, just represent a society, this year all Staffordshire districts were represented by young farmers mainly in reversible class

I'll not bother answering St. howard, i'll answer you instead seeing as you are my new best friend! I also apologised for a mistake, but it still gets thrown back every so often. It's very sad and contemptible don't you think for someone to drag up posts from over 3 years ago. Says alot about them,I think.

As he doesnt think very highly of ploughman61, boysie, me or you, maybe we should all go and sit in the corner and read a dictionary? I had to look up The meaning of attrition too. it means reducing something's strength or effectiveness through sustained attack. I think that also says a lot about a person too.

I agree. In his last post he accuses someone of having motives for his own glory. A case of pot and kettle there I think.

No, that was me doing that. it was part of the ancient post he was quoting back at me. You need to apologize to him because I'm sure Howard wouldn't do anything like that becuase hes far too honest a man, as he often tells us.

I'm sorry Howard I misread in the dark. I don't know how anyone could get the idea that such an upstanding man like yourself would have selfish motives

[Moderator note]

This thread has generated a number of reports, mostly centred on personal insults that creep in as the temperature of the debate rises.

It is possible to express an opinion, discuss the SOP or whatever, without resorting to personal insults.

As has been pointed out, when threads turn this way it will be very off putting for others.

A few of the more recent reports could have resulted in removal or editing of personal insults but inevitably you trawl back a bit further to find a personal comment made that probably elicited that response.

The forum is there for all and should be welcoming to to new members, the general public, young competitors and all. To read pages of invective is just plain boring and off-putting.

The moderator team don't want to intervene or waste hours deleting posts, editing or even locking threads so we ask that you pause and think before posting. Nobody is asking that you don't post your views, just think about the overall tone and approach please

Thank you for your co-operation

I was going to ask the same question! I am 15 miles away as the crow flies, on wold land and it is very wet here. It would be nice to no in advance even for us locals.

They will all be gathering today to start marking out, need to make a decision sooner rather than later, forcast is not good at all.
