Who's going ww in feb ?

Assuming Feb gives any chances to sow of course...

'february-fill-the-dike' isn't it??

The law of averages would probably suggest we cannot have any less chance of sowing than through Oct/Dec-but wet as things are now, we are yet to have 'winter'.

In my opinion sowing now is high risk with uncertain weather and undoubtably going colder , so , I'm thinking how's about mid - end of feb , moves some seed and the only risk is vernalisation , could be a better gamble ,

Decisions , decisions .
Thinking the same here, just about dried up to have a go. Would probably get massacred by crows. For once I wish it would rain so the decision would be made for me. Hoping to get a spell at the end of Jan, sowing now is just guaranteeing 2 months of minimal growth and maximum potential pest damage.

A few drilling locally, but I’m waiting now as the last lot took forever to come through . Better to drill with lengthening days in my opinion. I can understand people that haven't drilled anything and have seed in the shed, wanting to do something, but it is December . I’ve already got one field that needs re drilling.

If it’s off the heap, put enough on for the crows too

Don’t wish for rain, but I know what you mean. I’ve managed to plough some more, but quite an area of it wouldn’t drill very well, so the winter frosts can do their best on it for now.

feck sake sound like you're in a different time zone :D:D...ooh what us norfolk/suffolk lads would give for your 'gentle summer' rains:D:D
Very true @spin cycle but despite me always being jealous of the rest of the country in may and June when they're getting rain and our little bit that juts out misses every shower. I still dont think I'd swap. Our yields aren't that far below others but we do have a much easier time getting them, no blackgrass, no snotty muddy fields for 6 months of the year, no enormous fuel bills from having to work land numerous times to get a seed bed.

If you have conditions you can drill in then I would

you could be under several feet of snow in February

not a season for gambling imo

I agree but it’s still too wet, even on the stubbles the tire cleats are making little sealed pools at the moment. Give it a couple of weeks hopefully
