Who's joining me?

Just had the red tractor inspection, I sadly haven't passed so won't be able to sell stock at the premium.

I failed on health plan, health and safety plan, haven't got a needle certificate and when the dog was wormed. The whole thing has become an utter joke. BVD testing is recommended now, so I'm sure it will be compulsory soon, and as I've said before they'll want everyone on high health schemes costing thousands.

So I won't rejoin, reckon it will save me £500 a year, a day of my life and I'll just sell cattle all live. I've been never been asked for red tractor on the sheep and it's never seemed to knock them.

Who's with me?

If you've just had inspection, you have already paid this years protection money🤷‍♂️, might as well comply now and join what will hopefully be a proper insurrection by next time around.
Pioneers are easily picked off.
Be assured the top brass at ADHB, NFU, AICC are monitoring this carefully to see if they have got away with it, and are relying on all this silliness all petering out, and we will all behave after we have had a lie down, had a look at ourselves, and come to our senses.
I am hoping against hope that something sustainable and acceptable to most farmers will emerge from the current dissatisfaction, but it isn't there yet. Jesus, if we can't break free whilst there are supply shortages and high prices, then it will never happen.
You will just be picked off without plenty of wingmen.

Would have to pay for the vet to sign the Heath plan though and go on the jabbing course, can’t really be arsed, will sell cull cows next week, then sell as feeders after that.

I’ve got last years, had a bit of a fight with the vets to get them to sign it without making a special visit, scanning next week so was going to ask them to sign it at the same time.

But no, I haven’t got a written plan which I refer to throughout the year as to what I should do when. Would anyone have one of it wasn’t required?

What's a needle cert? Is it to say I've been on that vet course that I haven't? An inspector person, told me not long ago that 75% of sheep flocks they visit are not RT, people are walking.
I can go next Wednesday night and its £30, I can’t get there anyway, but there’s no way I can endure an evening of that.

I dare say @S J H will have the same vet health plan as he had in his file last year, which is never referred to, but unless it has been reviewed and signed by a vet within 12 months then it’s a ‘non-compliance’.

That in no way means that he doesn’t have a health plan written down or, far more importantly, that he knows what health risks his livestock face and how he will best deal with them.

Like most of the RT paperwork, it is just a paper exercise, but now one that the vet has to do, and charge for.

The most important thing to do is get onto your bank and cancel the direct debit, You haven't left the scheme, but you now have control over your own money and won't automatically roll forward into the next scheme year while you make your own mind up.

Once your stickers expire, you will realise that life goes on without the extra time and expense of the dead tractor, despite the threats they make about what might happen to you if they don't get your money.

There's never a premium and anyway, when stock is short, the supermarkets use an agent to buy out of the live market*. Ask any auctioneer.

Live markets are what keep the supermarkets from taking complete control of the beef and lamb job, like they have with pigs and poultry with the help of the good old dead tractor. Haven't heard them boasting too much about that one lately have we? So you will be doing yourself a favour there too.

*Magic stickers must be handy in these situations!

If it’s anything like ours it’s a couple of hours in the pub, with a pint and sandwiches, listening to a general ‘how to suck eggs’ chat from the vet, followed by a multiple choice questionnaire to make sure you hadn’t nodded off (don’t sit by the radiator;)).
It’s no great bother but nonetheless a complete waste of time.

I said at the start of this nonsense every one should have told them to do 1 , but now they have got a foothold it will be harder to get rid of the parasites !
Rest assured it's not going to be hard to get rid of the parasites and fraudsters. This time they really are on the way out and will be dishing out a lot of compensation.

😂 it just pains me. Just had a call from a lady at red tractor, TBF she was very good and I appreciate her call, but i think they’re just playing into the hands of the abattoirs.
