still raining here and has done at various rates since midnight ,seems to be soaking in ,dog wasnt keen on going out looks to be at least 1/2 an inch with the same friday night. we will have had over 1&1/2 inch in june which as we had nothing of any use since early march is most welcome,

should see over 50 by the end of next week which will be enough to get through grain fill in the wheat.

Ah I see.....how's the yield prediction tracking this season? It's certainly been a year to challenge it.
I’ve replied in the other thread, thought it was better placed ?

Just about managed 13mm since Tuesday night here. The first 4mm came in dribs and drabs and most was blown away before it soaked in. But 9mm last night and this morning has done a bit of good to the grass at least.

We’ve had enough, don’t care if it doesn’t rain till September

Walked some ground yesterday - dry as a bone on top. Cracks 2" wide and as deep as you could see. Stood on one piece of soil on the side of the crack and it fractured off like an iceberg forming and fell into the crack. Pulled the chunk out and it was damp to touch underneath. Shows there is moisture deep down on some soil. The maize ground next door is like a beach - I can dig with my foot through loose-ish soil down 3-4in without an issue and it's dry as anything.

Other land elsewhere (not what I would consider light at all) is/has been burning up and losing the leaves on the bottom half of the plant.
