  1. Flood alert
    Areas affected: Gower penninsula
Starts: 23:12 BST on Wed 10 June
Flooding is possible - be prepared
The rainfall is forecast to ease by 5 AM on Thursday 11th June. The heaviest rainfall is expected to continue. The combination of ground conditions, existing river levels and forecast rainfall quantities gives a high risk of flooding of low-lying land overnight.

Caught a shower and had 2mm in as many minutes, even have puddles but sun out now and strong wind, black all around, so someone's getting some.

Looks like everyone apart from our area has had a decent spell of rain now.
Just 4mm here, so a bit sad. Decent wheat on all the light land dying, and spring crops on the heavy land in the balance. Its been a hard year, put our heart and soul into it, adjusted, adapted and achieved a good potential back at the beginning of May.

Naff all again here, storm went to the North of us and another to the South, been in sun all day
Same here.

Right now I can see a huge slow-moving storm to the north which crept over us while it was still brewing a couple of hours ago. It passed overhead and started chucking it down a couple of miles north, close enough to smell it. There was so much rain that the rain radar coloured it pink and lilac.

Maybe tomorrow...

havnt seen the sun since last week until a few minutes ago and then you can only just make it out , forecast till end of month is scorchio so looks like it will be weight loss time ( small hay bales ) a job I enjoy even if the most manual work we do /year its often the most profitable crop
edited so I can say one of the main reasons I enjoy haymaking in little bales is it brings back the memories of the work being done in a gang with lunches brought out to the field a bottle or two of pale ale when finished for the night and the craic as a young lad listening and learning (not about farming)to the old hands reminicising of their adventures , hard work but happy days

That's unlucky as we had 17mm near Witney yesterday evening. Too late for some of the s.barley (no wheat drilled fortunately), but will help maize, beans and linseed. That's 22mm since start of May. I hope you catch some on Thursday!

In the middle.
After watching everyone else around getting rain and missing any useful amounts we finally coped a thunderstorm tonight. 13mm in about 10 mins then cleared off again. Well I don't think we had any more at the farm as I came home after getting soaked and less than 2 miles away from the farm we have had 2mm.

doesn't take a lot to get things shifting,

still a bit patchy but it's grown more in the last few days than it did for the whole of may.
