...be thankful !!!
We are, but in wheat too wet often ultimately turns out to be a lot worse than too dry.

Don't mind betting you now that your wheats do substantially better than ours.

Nevertheless, somebody in the UK must by now have had the ideal rainfall?

Maybe it's that FW chap up near Wantage who always manages to average 13t/ha every year regardless.

:ROFLMAO: :D

Apart from one field of our heaviest ground that really struggled with the wet winter we have probably some the best looking wheats I’ve seen on our ground in long time! Even the poor field has grown out in the last fortnight, it’s nothing to get excited about but I’m feeling a lot better about it than a month ago!

Just remember, wet and windy May fills the barn with grain and hay 👍🏼

I’d also much rather have it wet now than come July/August 🤦🏻‍♂️

Bright sunlight 15 to 20 centigrade is what we need till early July

the low yielding years are wet dull June weather 1982 2012 the worst
1984 was cool and wet April then June had lots of sunny days
2012 was horrendous here, whereas the good stuff last year was at least average, if not slightly above, just dragged down by the stuff I drilled in February.
Proving IMHO we need sunshine more than rain here.

mind you that green flush that we haven't have for a year or 2 in May is starting to show now ,(y)
and as its a bit warmer also grass is growing better ive noticed.

Very true. Grass is certainly growing now, would be better if it warms up a bit more.

Have heard of maize down under plastic a month ago being killed of by late frosts 😳.

Soil moisture now is very good, soil temp is still a little low.

At least there is some sunshine between showers, just hope it’s dry tomorrow as got to Nemo drench lambs!
