Yes, very frustrating!! Looking at the rain radar today it just hasn't moved, just been sat over the other side of the peak district all day long!Seems to be incredibly localised
You can stand on (what many on here would laughingly call) our hill in blazing sunshine and watch rain follow the Trent (about a mile and a half away) all the way down to the Ouse and then watch it turn right and the follow the Humber and out to seaThey always reckon here that the thunderstorms follow the Trent or Anchome. You see them over that way where it can be lashing down but dry here closer to the wolds.
@bobk I don’t know how it misses us to get to you if it’s coming up country according to the radar!
Yesterday has taken us to 8mm this month.......Can I start another thread, "Why do we get so much rain ?".
25mm yesterday.
There’s nothing worse on a drought thread than someone complaining about too much rain. Just be thankful and keep quiet pleaseCan I start another thread, "Why do we get so much rain ?".

Be thankful for too much rain? Too much is worse than not enoughThere’s nothing worse on a drought thread than someone complaining about too much rain. Just be thankful and keep quiet please
Think the jury’s out on that one to be honest! It’s easier to add water to a field than take it awayBe thankful for too much rain? Too much is worse than not enough
I'm moving to Lichfield , rained all night here , calling the fire brigade .
If we don't get enough rain we have a quick and easy harvest, crops may be lighter but at least we can get them harvested. Too much rain and we can lose everything.Think the jury’s out on that one to be honest! It’s easier to add water to a field than take it away

I feel your painIf we don't get enough rain we have a quick and easy harvest, crops may be lighter but at least we can get them harvested. Too much rain and we can lose everything.
I've spent the last 2 days in wellies and waterproofs trying to get rid of water, 3 or 4 weeks without rain would be great.
My mate down the rd has got 38.5mm in his rain gauge from the last 24h. There was surface water on some fields this morning! Nearly gone now though as it’s dry at depth.I'm not far from Phil P and we have recived 24mm in the last 24 hours
