Why do we always miss so much rain?

Rained all day here and still coming. Personally i think we’ve had more than 7.3mm in the last 24h!

They always reckon here that the thunderstorms follow the Trent or Anchome. You see them over that way where it can be lashing down but dry here closer to the wolds.
You can stand on (what many on here would laughingly call) our hill in blazing sunshine and watch rain follow the Trent (about a mile and a half away) all the way down to the Ouse and then watch it turn right and the follow the Humber and out to sea:facepalm::facepalm:

All the old blokes say,"It takes a lot to make it rain in a dry time":(

I'm moving to Lichfield , rained all night here , calling the fire brigade . :(

It could do that for a week here and I would not complain !

We have been lucky enough to have some that will keep crops going another couple of weeks but it’s fundamentally so dry the ground is taking everything like blotting paper, reserve are very low, local reservoir is desperate

Think the jury’s out on that one to be honest! It’s easier to add water to a field than take it away:whistle:
If we don't get enough rain we have a quick and easy harvest, crops may be lighter but at least we can get them harvested. Too much rain and we can lose everything.
I've spent the last 2 days in wellies and waterproofs trying to get rid of water, 3 or 4 weeks without rain would be great.
